(Backup) Carne Golf Course

Up for our home cooked Full Irish breakfast then headed off to Carne Golf Club in Belmullet.
Wow, yet another amazing golf course. A little like Portstewart with the big dunes and ocean views - just gorgeous.

I played in a cart today, slight strain to my calf muscle yesterday while bowling and didn’t want to aggravate it further. I played so much better too πŸ˜‰⛳️

The weather was perfect again, a slight mist rolled in and out for a while so started in jackets, but one mist lifted the sun came out and it was warm and dry, and amazingly not too windy

Sean & Brian beat Julie & I - 1 up. Very close match. We were leading or square until the 14th hole. There were some amazing holes, particularly out on the ocean - the most western point in Ireland, next stop from there is New York ✈️

Julie had one birdie on the 10th, Sean had one birdie on the 16th. Brian won the individual with 35, Julie close behind with 34. A really wonderful day out, and we were the only ones on the whole course for most of it!!

Stopped for a quick drink then headed off on a 4 hour drive to Lahinch. Checked into our hotel, they upgraded us to have 2 rooms with a kitchen/lounge in the middle. Julie finally got a fridge to cool down the wine she has been carrying around in her bag for days 🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾

It was already 8pm by then so had dinner in the hotel restaurant, then shower and bed for some tired golfers.
Internet won’t let me add photo’s tonight so will try again to finish this blog in the morning.
