Ballybunion Golf Club

Sleep in today, nice to have a leisurely breakfast in our little house. Julie made me laugh so hard that I now know what a green tea sinus washout is like 😉 Headed off to play golf at Ballybunion - a 12:40 tee time

Blue skies and certainly not cold, but the 30km/hr winds made golf very interesting indeed.
They gave us a GPS to attach to one of the buggies, helps them see who is getting behind so they can get the large volume of golfers through on time each day.

We rugged up against the wind, a beanie was a MUST.

My first tee shot went hard right with the wind, straight into the cemetery! My second tee shot quickly followed suit - great way to start - not!

Things got better from there, Julie and I both had a par on the 2nd to win the hole. The fairways were very dry on the first few holes and the golf was very very slow!

Look how they rake bunkers - with a brush!

The wind was really strong, didn’t let up all day, the flags were bent sideways

Views were again amazing, the ocean was churning

Sitting waiting......waiting.....waiting!

Again, another amazing links golf course. I was unsure when we started but was very very glad we played it. It was a really tough course, but I had one of my best rounds today because I love playing in the wind.
Julie and I were never down all day, but were only 1 up going to the last. Brian had a 4/3 on the last to tie the match. Our first halved match of the tour. Sean and Brian won the individual with 28 points - a VERY tough course

It was a 6 hour round so decided to eat dinner at the club then head home for showers and a few drinks. Managed to get some golf coverage on TV so a nice quiet night in was in order.
Today we walked 11km, did 19,704 steps and climbed 114 flights!!
Tomorrow we have an early tee time at Tralee GC then plan to spend the afternoon shopping 😀😀😀😀😀😀
